company and gave it the whimsical name
of WINTERGREEN. There are certainly lots of little stories that
could be told from the early days. Like the one about the major
corporate purchasing decision involving installing a telephone extension
in the warehouse so orders could get packed and shipped and the
phone could get answered should it happen to ring. Wow, early multi-tasking.
A short time later, incoming purchase orders we’re received by mail,
typed by hand with carbon copies made when necessary. Then came
the age of the computer and fax machine. Now there is the internet.
These
evolutions have come about in a pretty short period of time (unless
you’re a Kindergartener). Those who’ve been involved in this company
for some time (some since birth) have seen many of these changes
first hand. This past year both Joe and Hugh have taken on board
positions, passing the torch of operating the company to me as President.
Going into our second 30-year era will undoubtedly bring more technological
advances, time saving machines, and maybe even the odd major corporate
purchasing decision. My job will be to ensure it all goes smoothly.
One
thing that will not change is our belief that to last yet another
30 years, we must continue to provide the service you have come
to expect and deserve. From our product selection to our phone and
web service, from environmentally responsible packaging to complete
and timely order delivery, we know we must continue to earn your
business with everything we do. You can trust us to do our very
best to exceed your expectations.
