Constructing 3D Platonic Solids
The first in a set of constructive models that help students in understanding geometry through shape making. The Platonic solids have been known since antiquity. The aesthetic beauty and symmetry of the Platonic solids have made them a favourite subject of geometers for thousands of years. They are named for the ancient Greek philosopher Plato who theorized the classical elements were constructed from the regular solids. Children love to make these shapes, which are also fun to decorate. In these black line masters, you will receive two sets of all five models. One set is printed as black and white, allowing the students to colour the faces, while the second set has the sides pre-coloured. These models are ready to cut out and glue together.
